Section 2(4)—Public authority—Definition of—Co-operative society is not a `public authority’ but Assistant Registrar is a `public authority’ defined under the RTI Act—Information sought from the petitioner is from the Assistant Registrar—Information being sought is also an information which is of importance to general public and the registrar is duty bound to supply the information under the RTI Act—Petition dismissed.
