Sections 504 & 506—Criminal intimidation—Cross FIRs—High Court had quashed the proceedings under Sections 3(1)(r) and (s) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act, however, refused to quash the proceedings under Sections 504 & 506 of IPC—Appeal—Accused in both the FIRs were employees of a Government College—Matter referred to mediation and mediation has been successful—Parties on both the sides have resolved to give an end to the criminal proceedings filed against each other—Settlement agreement placed on record along with joint application filed by counsel for the parties seeking the quashing of the cross FIRs in view of the settlement agreement—Fit case to quash proceedings by the Apex Court by invoking its powers under Article 142 of the Constitution of India—Appeal allowed.
