The Allahabad High Court observed that a Muslim man, who was charged under the anti-conversion law in Uttar Pradesh, cannot be arrested yet. The man was nabbed after he was accused of trapping his wife in a "net of love" and forcing her to convert her religion.
The man was identified as Nadeem. Nadeem and his brother Salman were accused of forcing a woman named Parul of changing her religion.

The case came to light when a man named Akshay Kumar Tyagi, who works at a pharmaceutical company approached the cops and lodged a complaint against Nadeem and Salman. The man alleged that Nadeem seduced Parul by gifting her a mobile phone and promising to marry her. It was also alleged that Nadeem got married to Parul with the intention of converting her.
Protection granted to man by court
After the complaint was registered, Nadeem approached the court and filed a petition, demanding that the FIR be scraped, NDTV reported. The Allahabad High Court observed that the police can not take action against Nadeem. The court also provided protection to the man until the next hearing.
The court observed, "Victim is admittedly an adult who understands her well-being. She as well as the petitioner have a fundamental right to privacy and being grown-up adults who are aware of the consequences of their alleged relationship."
